Who permanent makeup is suitable for

Please read this before booking brow or lip pigment work.

Permanent makeup is a procedure that breaks the skin and places pigment in it. For some people that is not safe, and for others it needs a doctor’s approval first. None of this is about turning people away — it is about not causing harm.

We cannot treat you if

  • You are under 18. No exceptions, with or without a parent present.
  • You have had an allergic reaction to pigments, dyes or tattoo ink.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You currently have COVID-19, or are otherwise unwell. Please reschedule — tell us and we will move your appointment.
  • You have an active skin infection, rash or irritation in the area to be treated.

Tell us before you book if

  • You have diabetes. Healing is slower and the risk of infection is higher. We will need your doctor’s approval.
  • You take blood-thinning medication. Bleeding during the procedure stops pigment settling properly. Never stop prescribed medication on your own — talk to your doctor and to us.
  • You have a history of keloid scarring.
  • You get cold sores and are booking lip work.
  • You are having chemotherapy or take immunosuppressant medication.
  • You have had Botox or filler in the area within the last two weeks.

Why we ask

If we only find out on the day, we may not be able to treat you, and the deposit covers a slot that can no longer be filled. Telling us in advance means we can either plan around it or point you to something that suits you better.

For Maya to confirm before this page goes live.

The six conditions Maya listed on the Oct 1 call are included. The additional items under “tell us before you book” are standard permanent-makeup screening questions and are not from that call — please confirm you want them, and whether diabetes is a refusal or a doctor’s-note case.
