Who we are

Maya Skin & Brow Studio (formerly Maya’s Beauty Skin) is a licensed esthetician-led skincare studio at 315 5th Avenue, Room 807, New York, NY 10016. Information we collect

When you book an appointment

Our online booking system collects your name, email address, phone number, the treatment you select, and your appointment date and time. This is stored in our website’s database on our web host’s servers in the United States.

When you contact us or subscribe

If you send us a message or sign up for our newsletter, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address and the content of your message. Newsletter subscribers are managed in our customer relationship system, which runs on this website rather than on a third-party mailing platform.

In the studio

Before treatment we ask you to complete a consultation and consent form. This includes health information such as skin conditions, allergies, medications, and previous treatments. We collect this only to decide whether a treatment is safe and appropriate for you, and to plan it properly. We do not use health information for marketing, and we do not share it with anyone outside the studio except where the law requires it.

Automatically, when you browse

Our website sets a small number of cookies (see below) and our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and browser information, for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies

We use cookies for two purposes: to keep the website working, and to understand which pages our subscribers and enquirers looked at so we can follow up sensibly. The cookies set by this site are:

• groundhogg-tracking, groundhogg-lead-source and groundhogg-page-visits — used by our customer relationship system to record how you found us and which pages you visited, and to link that to your record if you subscribe or make an enquiry.
• viewed_cookie_policy — remembers that you have seen our cookie notice.
• WordPress functional cookies — used only if you log in to the site.

We do not currently run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party advertising trackers on this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though the booking form may behave less smoothly.

Payments

No payment is taken through this website. Our booking form does not collect card details, and we do not process card payments online. Payment is taken in the studio, and any deposit is arranged with us directly. That means we never see or store your full card number on this website.

How we use your information

• To schedule, confirm, and remind you about appointments.
• To decide whether a treatment is safe for you, and to plan and record your treatment.
• To answer your enquiries.
• To send newsletters and studio offers — only if you asked us to, and you can stop at any time.
• To keep proper business records and meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising. We share it only with the suppliers who help us run the studio — our web host, and the services that deliver our email — and only so far as they need it to do that job. We will also disclose information if the law requires it.

Reviews shown on this site are published by clients on Google. We display what Google publishes; we do not add to it.

How long we keep it

We keep appointment and treatment records, including consultation forms, for as long as you remain a client and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we have your treatment history if you return and so we can meet our record-keeping obligations. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept only as long as useful.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe — every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, or email us and we will remove you.
• Ask what we hold — email us and we will tell you what we have about you.
• Correct it — tell us if anything is wrong and we will fix it.
• Ask us to delete it — we will delete what we are not required to keep. We may need to retain some treatment records.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. We apply the choices above to everyone who asks, wherever you are.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and access to client records is limited to the studio. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

This website is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 through this site. Treatments for clients under 18 require a parent or guardian to attend and give consent.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
